Bevon Jacobs is a powerful top-order batter from New Zealand who is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting young talents in T20 cricket. Born in Pretoria, South Africa , Jacobs moved to New Zealand at the age of three and honed his cricketing skills in Auckland , where he quickly rose through the domestic ranks. Jacobs caught the attention of selectors and fans alike with his standout performances in the 2023/24 Super Smash , showcasing an aggressive style and clean ball-striking ability that made him a nightmare for bowlers in the powerplay. His form earned him a call-up to New Zealand's T20I squad for the 2025 home series against Sri Lanka , though he did not feature in the playing XI. Despite limited international exposure, Jacobs’ raw potential did not go unnoticed. At the 2025 IPL Auctions , he was one of the surprise signings, picked up by the Mumbai Indians at his base price —a move that could prove to be a masterstroke, given his explosive ability at the top of the order. Still early in his career, Bevon Jacobs is seen as a player to watch in the T20 format, with the tools to become a mainstay in New Zealand’s white-ball setup and make a mark on the global franchise circuit.
