Asif Afridi is a veteran left-arm spinner from Pakistan, known for his control, accuracy, and ability to trouble batters with his variations. Born on December 25, 1986, in Peshawar, he has been a consistent performer in Pakistan’s domestic cricket for over a decade. His disciplined bowling and handy batting have earned him recognition as a reliable all-rounder in the circuit. With 198 wickets in first-class cricket at an average of 25.49, Afridi has been a key player for teams like FATA Region, Abbottabad, and Multan Sultans. He has also made his mark in the T20 format, where his best bowling figures of 5/26 highlight his ability to deliver match-winning spells. His experience in franchise cricket, including stints with Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League, has further cemented his reputation as a dependable spinner. Afridi’s career faced a setback when he was handed a two-year ban for violating the PCB’s anti-corruption code. However, with half of the sentence suspended, he returned to competitive cricket in 2023, proving his resilience and passion for the game. Since his comeback, he has continued to contribute to domestic cricket, showing that he still has plenty to offer. A player with vast experience and a fighting spirit, Asif Afridi remains a valuable asset in Pakistan’s domestic and franchise cricket. His ability to turn games with both ball and bat makes him a player to watch, especially in pressure situations. The left-arm tweaker made his debut in the Pakistan Super League during the 2025 season at the age of 38 years. He ended the tournament as an integral part of Lahore Qalandars' title-winning team.
