Fergus Patrick O'Neill has rapidly established himself as one of Australian domestic cricket’s most dangerous seam bowlers — not through raw, eye-watering speed, but through relentless accuracy, clever seam movement, and match-winning instincts. Born in Tauranga, New Zealand, O'Neill moved to Victoria at a young age and came up through the Melbourne Premier Cricket system. In 2025, O'Neill signed a short-term contract with Nottinghamshire in England. There, in just four County Championship matches, he claimed 21 wickets and helped his county side lift the title. "It was so much fun...I learnt that I like the Dukes ball a bit more than the Kookaburra, and certainly a lot more than the SG," O'Neill said about his county cricket experience in an interview with ESPN. O'Neill made his Big Bash debut for Melbourne Renegades in January 2024. He will continue to stay associated with the Re
